MASLÁK, M.: Collective actions in consumer cases – terra incognita in The Slovak Republic? Collective actions and procedural requirements – Part I. Právny obzor, 100, 2017, č. 2, s. 162 – 182. Abstract. In the present paper author deals with issues of collective redress mechanisms in general and explains different forms of such mechanisms, its function and purpose. Author also provides answers to specific question of collective redress mechanisms such as opt-in or opt-out principle, conditions of eligibility of entities to bring collective action, protection of good reputation of defendant, information to the public about collective redress action and certification of collective lawsuit. In The Slovak Republic it is considering about adoption of legislation that will regulate collective redress mechanism in comprehensive manner, whereas as present in The Slovak Republic it does not exist compensatory collective redress. Because of possible abusing of collective actions author proposes an appropriate system for The Slovak Republic.
