In the article, the author deals with the concept of defending democracy, its several types, and based on the analysis of the legal order as well as the jurisprudence of the highest court instances, evaluates what kind of defending democracy prevails in the Slovak Republic. In addition to the definition of the types of defending democracy by foreign authors, the author brings his own perspective and explanations of the term militant democracy, defending democracy and immune democracy and points out the positives, but also the risks resulting from the application of individual concepts of defending democracy.
